Monthly Donation Report Update: In July, our customers donated $1,462, which we matched 100%. Guests of @phoenixbelize donated $275, which The Phoenix matched. And customers of Wine de Vine donated $29, which Wine de Vine matched.
In total, we contributed $3,532 to the DFC Eco-Rangers, which is a group of kids in the DFC area who are cleaning up their neighborhood by picking up garbage, planting trees & flowers, installing & maintaining garbage bins, and repurposing trash into public art. They made us a great trash bin (swipe left) that we will install on the beach in front of our restaurant. If you doubt the work ethic, selflessness, and intelligence of young people in Belize, you should spend time with these kids. We guarantee that your perception will change.
In August, we're raising money to build a new library and literacy classroom at New Horizons Primary School. This addition will give the school a dedicated place for kids to read and for teachers to conduct literacy classes for the kids. Currently, the school does not have an indoor space for this. The cost of the project is $25K. To date, $15K has been raised. We hope to raise the remaining $10K.

This amazing #soup I discovered in #belize thanks to my good friends @belizefood and @phoenixbelize where the staff showed me this #escabeche a beautiful rich but light chicken broth seasoned with allspice and roasted jalapeño. Then finished with the shredded chicken to make the stock and a ton of pickled white onions that give the soup its zing. Just delicious. You only have today and tomorrow to get some before it's gone!! Swing by @goodstocksoups location and get a bowl.
Guest chef dinner series resumes this weekend at Blue Water Grill. We're excited to have Ryan Lachaine of @rielhouston, Rich Parente of @clocktowergrill, & Ned Elliott of @foreigndomestic joining our chef Chris Aycock in our kitchen this Friday, July 28 & Saturday, July 29. Here are some items they're planning:

Wood fired pomegranate, garlic, and rosemary marinated arrachera steak, roasted baby new potatoes, grilled cauliflower, golden raisins, black olives, feta cheese puree
Hudson Valley duck confit fritter - cured & smoked duck breast, pickled mango, papaya puree
